Olivia

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

She / Her

Olivia is currently training as a provisional psychologist at Symmetry on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as she works towards obtaining her Master of Clinical Psychology degree.

Olivia has worked in private and community-based support settings with children, adolescents, and young people through her work as a workshop facilitator in high schools, and as a mental health (NDIS) support worker. As a 1:1 NDIS support worker, Olivia gained valuable insight and experience into the homelife of neurodiverse (ASD/ADHD) children and their families, and the unique challenges that are pertinent to these environments. Olivia is interested in continuing to work with these populations in her clinical work, as well as exploring her other interests. Olivia is particularly interested in relationships, including issues pertaining to attachment, self-esteem, identity, family conflict, and queerness. As a queer woman herself, Olivia is passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ peoples to navigate the unique challenges that can exist for this community.

Olivia’s approach is warm, friendly, and non-judgemental as she aims to create a safe and collaborative space for her clients. Her current training draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Schema therapy approaches.
